Welcome to the Multiverse

In the year 2055, humanity stumbled upon the first multiverse gate - an ancient stone archway buried in a forgotten cave deep in the mountains of rural West Virginia. A group of amateur spelunkers, believing they had found an abandoned mine shaft, ventured inside. As they explored the dark, narrow tunnel, they stepped through a crumbling archway and found themselves in an unfamiliar stone corridor, lined with additional arches and cloaked in a heavy, undisturbed stillness. Ahead, a larger passage beckoned, its end lost in shadow.
When they turned around, the cave entrance they had come through was gone - replaced by another darkened corridor. Alarmed, they stepped back through the archway and were shocked to reappear in the same cave they had entered. Unbeknownst to them, crossing that threshold had transported them to a different universe - one that served as a nexus (The Nexus (Earth)) between countless others.
Thus began humanity’s exploration of the multiverse: some worlds eerily similar to Earth, others utterly alien.
